WHAT ARE MY PURPOSES?

To worship God

To love, serve and lead my beautiful wife and our children

To teach practical truth consistent with my gifts

WHAT ARE MY SPIRITUAL GIFTS?

I am a leader

I am an exhorter and encourager

I am a communicator

I am a generous giver 

WHAT ARE MY PASSIONS?

I love being a husband and father

I love to teach and help people

I love the local church and its potential to change peoples lives around the world

I love to encourage people

I/we love to play tennis (baseline on rubico courts at Tops'l, the condo in Sandestin, Florida), family retreats at the cabin in east Texas, Marin County, Iowa, Colorado and really travel of any type 

I love any natural settings 

I love taking profits.  Seek profit not revenue and definitley not work 

 

WHAT ARE MY VALUES?

My personal relationship with God is priority # 1

My family is a priority over ministry roles and work and self

Grace is freely given to me by God and I accept that and give it to others freely

I will not let issues separate me from relationships

I will be a good steward over my resources

I will seek validation via corporate influence over my own personal desires 

FAMILY COVENANT

    The purpose of the Carmody family is to pursue the Father’s cause in this Life.  We take up that cause and commit ourselves to serving others with it.  We will lay down our lives for our wives and husbands.  We will raise our children to embrace a Kingdom world view.  We will work as unto the Lord in our jobs, our community and our church.  We will be His sons and daughters and serve Him faithfully all our days. 

  The purpose of the Carmody family is to have the Father’s character formed in us, so that His passions might burn in us.  We will love without reservation, forgive without conditions and trust without wavering.  We will live by His Word never to be shaped by the patterns of this world.  We will experience the adventures of this life without the weight of our fears, the sting of our wounds or the slavery of our sins defining us.  We will worship Him continually and extend His fame to all generations that follow.    

  The purpose of the Carmody family is to show the Father’s compassion for the world.  We will commit our resources and talents to the extension of His Kingdom in all the earth.  We will show mercy to the poor and reach out to heal the brokenhearted.  We will disciple our family to influence nations and fulfill “The Great Commission.”  We will tell our story to all who will listen and at the end our days it will be said of us, “Well Done!”

My life has been my family and my work.  My gratitude to my wife Dian surpasses my capacity to express it.  Our twin boys Jarrod and Zephan are constant sources of inspiration and joy to our family. 

It is axiomatic that an excellent family is driven by love, faith, mercy and grace.  We are well beyond that in our instance.  In the end, Dian's loving-kindness throughout our journey has made our family better than I ever could have dreamed of.   

Indeed "This is not a dress rehearsal for life".
